Introduction

Go for broke

Welcome to the Defining Courage exhibit at Go For Broke National Education Center. In this exhibit, you will have the unique opportunity to learn about the inspiring stories of Japanese American soldiers who demonstrated extraordinary courage during WWII.
In 1986, Colonel (Ret.) Young Oak Kim and a group of Japanese American veterans of WWII initiated a mission to recognize the contributions of Japanese American soldiers during WWII. Go For Broke National Education Center, a non-profit organization in historic Little Tokyo, is dedicated to preserving the legacy of these veterans through educational programs, the Go For Broke Monument, and the Defining Courage Exhibit.
